Why the Puvee name?

Many folks have asked over the years why we use the Puvee name on some of our does, so I thought it appropriate to tell the story behind the name.  When we purchased our first FB Boer buck XS African Abner, we only had a couple of full blood does along with several brush goats.  The brush goats weren't much when compared to the present herd but we loved them all the same.  The Puvee line started with a tall and skinny Spanish dairy cross doe.  The first kid from the cross with African Abner was never registered but she was a nicely made doe with lots of thickness and good bone.  The second cross was produced using Gatwood Farm's Tot-Man on the offspring and that doe kid was CSF Luanne Puvee (Gomer's ficticious girl friend) on the Gomer Pyle Show.  I was a huge fan of that show BTW!!  Anyway, every daughter out of that line gets the infamous Puvee name attached.  They are among our most favorite percentage lines on the farm.  Even though we've sold two or three from the line we can't help but hold onto a fair share for ourselves. 

CSF Jolene Puvee 7/8 Boer      DOB: 2/09/06  Sire: Tri-Quest Pipsissewa Dam: CSF Belladonna Puvee  Bred by: Chestnut Springs Farm Another really nice doe who placed 2nd in her class at The Ohio State Fair 2006.  She also won her class in The Online Meat Goat Show.  She is structurally correct in every way!

CSF Bella Donna Puvee 75% Boer      DOB: 02/07/04 Sire: CSF Tomahawk  Dam: CSF Luanne Puvee Bred by: Chestnut Springs Farm Bella Donna is very wide and square with excellent length and a lovely long neck!  She was shown in Harrisonburg, VA in 2005 and placed 1st in a large class of top quality does.  Belladonna is another of CSF Luanne's line of outstanding offspring. Her offspring are awesome!

Luanne placed first in her class at the 2002 Cleveland County Fair in Shelby, NC. She possesses width, angulation, great muscling, and length. Luanne has put some very nice kids on the ground for us!

Daisy is best described as deep, wide, long and square. Daisy was placed Grand Champion Senior Doe and Overall Grand Champion Doe at the 2000 Lancaster, Ohio Boer Goat Show. Daisy sports a long list of impressive names such as, Ubora, Lobola, Tsjaka and J70 in her pedigree.

KM Konnie Fullblood Boer      DOB: 3/05/98 Sire: Magic Mojo Dam: Easter Bunny  Bred by:  N&K Ranch, Norman Kohls Konnie is probably one of the nicest Does I've ever laid eyes on and is very deep, long and wide.   Konnie has a very impressive pedigree, and always throws beautiful kids! Her offspring are always in the front of the line at shows!  Take a look at CSF Nozomi, CSF Miss Bunny, CSF Magi, CSF Mona Lisa and CSF Polly Ester. Konnie throws her length and great breed standards, and is consistent in doing so!

Although Pata Mae is only a half blood Boer she displays many of the necessary traits needed to produce breeding quality Does for today's meat goat industry. Pata Mae quickly proved herself as a production doe when producing an outstanding show wether her first time kidding.
